INSPIRED

Img via Tumblr

Feeling inspired from this super chic street style shot so I thought I would share it with you! I'm really into the socks showing out of my sneakers look right now. I would love to recreate a similar outfit on a cold day. Maybe during my upcoming trip to NYC!

Lack of Color

Sweater Dress: Zara, Bag: Balenciaga, Boots: Acne Studios, Glasses: Ray Ban, Watch: Michael Kors

photos by Bethany

Hey hey! Can you believe Christmas is in five days?! I wore this dress to a Christmas party last weekend. It was perfect because it was thick enough to keep me warm all night and it still looked chic. This is the type of dress that can be worn day to night; just throw on some fun heels when it's time to party!

Lately, I've been searching for more practical pieces. This dress takes absolutely no thinking in the morning when my brain is completely disheveled. Simple pieces need to be appreciated more!

Everyday Wear

Sweater: Zara, Jacket: Zara, Jeans: Rag & Bone, Booties: Acne Studios, Bag: Balenciaga, Watch: Michael Kors

photos by Bethany

You know those things you buy that break the bank but are soooo worth it? These Rag & Bone jeans and these Acne booties are prime examples. An investment piece, in my opinion, should be able to be worn with the majority of items in your closet. These were a bit pricey, but I wear them all the time and they go with everything!

Another great piece is my gold Michael Kors watch (it's hidden here). It was a gift a couple years back and I wear it every single day. It's one of the best gifts I've gotten! So if you're looking for some timeless pieces to give someone this year, make sure you shop my post!

Late Night Inspo

Img via Daily Mail UK

In case you missed it, Olivia Palermo covered Elle Australia's October issue and I am taking some mental notes from this shoot! I love the simplicity but what I love most is that Olivia can make a white tee look good enough to be on the cover....(bow down bitches)
But most importantly, these Gucci loafers are on the top of my Christmas list if anyone wants to put in a good word to Mr. Claus for me. I've been a good girl...most of the time...and these shoes are driving me crazy.

True Life

Jacket: Zara, Dress: H&M, Jeans: Urban Outfitters, Heels: ASOS

photos by Bethany Struble

True Life: I wore a dress with pants and lived. This look was undeniably inspired by the one and only Man Repeller. But seriously, why not wear a dress with pants? It's winter people! I know you ladies haven't shaved your legs in a long time...so wearing pants under your dress is the only route to take unless you want the world to see your not-so-cute winter coat. If you're feeling a little hesitant about the look, I understand, but you can definitely pull it off! One way to style the look is to use a simple slip dress instead of something too bold or poofy. Skinny jeans also simplify the transition to your newfound obsession. Try it out and report back to me ;)

Alexander Wang Denim Collection

Images via WWD

German model Anna Ewers strips down for the [NSFW] Denim x Alexander Wang campaign debuting Wang's new denim designs. The news was announced on Alexander Wang's social media pages on Tuesday, but shoppers must wait for the collection to drop on December 8th. Shoppers can purchase the denim in New York locations or on the U.S online shop.

Three different cuts and washes will be on sale ranging from $225 to $295.
(Some of the designs are pictured above! *swoon*)

“Once you see it, you can’t stop thinking about it,” said Alexander Wang to WWD regarding the provocative ads. And he couldn't be more right about that.

The campaign definitely sparked the Internet to start talking. But that's exactly what this denim line deserves: to be talked about. I'm excited to see another layer added to Wang's creativity.

What do you think about the collection?

Lesson Learned

Sunnies: Ray Ban, Shirt: Aeropostale, Jeans: Weekday via ASOS, Heels: ASOS, Bag: Balenciaga

photos by Marcus

As I've gotten older and somewhat wiser about my choice of clothing, I've realized that finding pieces that fit your body is essential. I could be lusting over something for years and if it looks horrible on my body, YES I will be heartbroken...but I've learned to step away from it. After all, it's just materialistic. I won't die if I put down the culotte pants that look awesome on 6-foot runway models but look like a trash bag is drowning little ol' me. Along my journey of finding what looks right on my body, I've realized that mid-rise jeans are the shit. Not too high, not too low, just right. Plus, they somewhat elongate my short little legs. I love them so much. I also love ASOS for making Weekday, one of my favorite brands in Sweden, available to the U.S. I paired my new found loves with this shirt from Aeropostale...which also fits amazingly!!

Lesson learned.

Reincarnation by Karl Lagerfeld

"Reincarnation" is the short-film directed by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel intended to accompany the Paris-Salzburg 2014-15 Métiers d'art collection on December 2nd 2014 in Salzburg. The film stars Cara Delevingne, Pharrell Williams, and Geraldine Chaplin.

Lagerfeld states that, “It was time to show the origins of the Chanel jacket, inspired by the one worn by the lift attendant in a hotel near Salzburg in the 1950's…Reincarnation is the story of a lift attendant’s jacket being reincarnated as a timeless piece of women’s wear.”

The film captures Lagerfeld's creative interpretation of how the iconic Chanel jacket came to be. Plus, we finally get a glimpse of Delevingne singing...is there anything that girl can't do?

What do you think of the film? Let's discuss in the comments!

Speaking of Black Friday....

Blazer: Forever 21, Tank: T by Alexander Wang, Jeans: Frame Denim, Boots: Acne, Scarf: H&M, Bag: Balenciaga

photos by Bethany

I've noticed that I have tried many times in the past to incorporate a colorful spin on my style. However, lately I have come to terms with the fact that I will never look or feel comfortable in loud colors and bold prints. Naturally, there will be a few exceptions. But nothing beats wearing black....or the perfect shade of blue jeans and a white t-shirt. How appropriate for Black Friday...

I'm a minimalist at heart and it's time to stop fighting that. California's laid back vibes have definitely influenced my style. I love mixing minimalism with beachy pieces; it makes me feel like I'm staying true to my roots. But I feel the most comfortable in basics. Moral of the story: The only way I can amp up my basic pieces are with some awesome accessories like this silk neck scarf. I have the biggest crush on it and I want to wear it everyday.

This outfit is an everyday look that you'll probably catch me repeating over and over again; just with different shoes :) Can you believe this belt is from H&M? It's such a great staple at a price that's unbeatable. Most of my clothes are oversized and it definitely comes in handy when I want to cinch my waist. I love wearing it to vamp up my basics. How would you guys style it?

Today's Inspiration

Elin's minimal look is inspiring me today (and everyday since I'm in love with her..) Who says navy and black don't mix well? This looks so effortless. I love the structure of the coat. It's absolutely perfect for fall; something I'm still waiting on here in LA. I really wish I lived somewhere with seasons so I could layer like this all the time!

Wishlist

Gloves by Acne Studios

ACNE DOES NO WRONG. I always have a hard time looking for gloves. I want them simple, but not too simple because then people will actually know that I'm boring. I think the zipper adds the perfect touch. I love these gloves and I wish I could justify spending $350 on something that I will only use if I get out of California. Tragic. Regardless, they're still on my wishlist!

I Owe You An Explanation....

MY LOOK:

I have been completely off the radar for the past 3 weeks and I'm so sorry for not paying attention to my blog. I had these Swedish boys staying at my house and they were a huge distraction. But they were exactly the distraction I needed and I am so thankful for every minute I got to spend with them. Having friends on the other side of the world is far from easy. I'm far more sad than I can convey over the Internet...But I feel like the luckiest person to even know these incredible people. You guys make me so happy and I will see you again soon...:)

PS...I promise I'll pay more attention to blogging now ;)

Are You Kidding?

After reading a recent Refinery 29 article, I have been enlightened with the knowledge of what an $80 million apartment in New York City looks like. I saw the images, regained a normal heart rate, and then became ridiculously envious of whoever could afford such a breathtaking place to live. First and foremost, $80 million is an unfathomable amount of money. If you have $80 million to spend at a whim, you better be giving some of that to charities or something. Secondly, I have an obvious infatuation with NYC and this apartment is what my hopes and dreams consist of. Every visit to NYC leaves me inspired and feeling like I can conquer anything. Now, these views above the city will most likely never become a reality for me, but a girl can keep dreaming. And more importantly, a girl can gain some serious interior design inspiration from this. The classic, sophisticated color palette is exactly what is expected from an apartment of this standard. Seriously, could it be more beautiful? It's making me sick. Let's hope whoever lives here appreciates every damn second of it. What do you guys think?

UNIQLO in LA

Top c/o Uniqlo, Skirt: H&M, Booties: Acne, Watch: Michael Kors, Bag: Balenciaga

photos by Bethany

SHOP THE POST:

Two things to share: 1.) I cut my hair off! This is the shortest I've gone in a long time...but so far i'm really enjoying the barely-able-to-rock-a-ponytail length. That sounded a little sarcastic but I really do like it! ;)
and 2.) UNIQLO IS HERE!!! WOO!! If you're into awesome and affordable basics like I am, you will be excited to know that the Tokyo based company, Uniqlo, is finally in L.A. There is a location at the Northridge Fashion Center and their flagship store is located at the Beverly Center. Everyone should check it out! Especially the flagship location...it's HUGE. Which means it's filled with good things to buy. This top is undoubtedly going to be part of my layering regimen when it gets cool enough to pile on the layers. I'm excited to find new ways to style it! Do you guys have any good ideas? Let me know in the comments!
