Seeing Red

Coat: Zara, Pants: Isabel Marant for H&M, Boots: Weekday, Bag: Mango

photos by Kelli Goss

As a California native, I never worried about bundling up when I was younger. Throughout the years, along with my annual trips to Sweden thanks to Marcus, I've discovered the fun in layering, bundling, snuggling....whatever you want to call it. Getting cozy with layers of knit truly puts me in the holiday spirit. This fall I've made it kind of a subconscious mission to find coats and other fun things for the cold. I'm usually drawn to boyfriend and biker style coats because they are the most versatile with my wardrobe; anything I can dress up or down. A good coat can make or break an outfit for fall so finding the right one in the right color is essential! I try to strategize when I shop for pieces like coats because I want to be able to wear them for years to come. This red Zara coat had me drooling when I saw it. This shade of red is simply unbeatable. Plus, makes me excited for Christmas! Zara has a TON of covetable and affordable coats right now along with ASOS, Topshop and H&M. Check it out!

Transitions

Coat: NY & Co., Sweater: American Apparel, Skirt: Olive Clothing, Bag: Topshop

photos by Bethany Struble

This outfit is perfect for this transition period we're in right now regarding the weather in LA. It's been cooling down slowly which is why I'm wearing a coat with a mini skirt; definitely something that is not always acceptable in other parts of the world during autumn. I saw this pink coat in the window of my local New York & Company and I fell in love with the fuzzy pastel color. Pink has been a huge trend this fall, but I like to believe I've always been attracted to the color. After all, there was a point in my life where I literally would not even consider wearing something unless it was some shade of pink...so much awesome I can't even contain it...

In other news, Thanksgiving break is here! I'm at that point in the semester where I am swamped with work but I can't seem to get off of Tumblr and Instagram and anything else that isn't related to school. No shame, right? We all do it. Anyways, a 5 day break is exactly what I need right now.

This Thanksgiving my family is eating dinner at my house and I am so happy we're all going to be together. Who doesn't love stuffing their face with pumpkin pie with loved ones? Because of the sad state of my bank account, I will not be participating in the Black Friday festivities. Marcus and I went shopping last year but sleep and not being trampled sounded much more attractive to us. Last year, however, we were much more desperate for Christmas gifts. This year we were good and we are already almost done with our shopping!

Is anyone else going Black Friday shopping? GOOD LUCK YOU NEED IT.

Laced Up

Sweater: Zara, Pants: Isabel Marant for H&M, Heels: Zara (old), Bag: Mango

photos by Bethany Struble

Hello, hello. After hours of standing in line like a maniac, I acquired these beautiful leather pants that left every fashion lover drooling. And just to sound like even more of a douche, they are so soft and buttery and if you can, you should look for them on eBay to get some for yourself. They're almost too good. The quality of the collection was surprising; every item was top notch and absolutely covetable. Now, let's talk about the time shall we?

Let's shall then...

Thanksgiving is just around the corner! So is the end of the semester, my mom and both of my brother's birthdays, Christmas, and my trip to Sweden. Needless to say, I'm going to be a little stressed for the next couple of weeks but I'm going to make sure I enjoy the time I spend with my family and friends around the holidays; my favorite time of year.

What are your plans for the holidays?

Pastel Pink

Sweater: Monki, Jeans: Current/Elliott, Heels: Zara, Bag: Topshop

photos by Bethany Struble

If you didn't know already, I've been in the process of remodeling my room and during this long, drawn out process, I've uncovered some great clothing that have been hiding in the depths of my room. Sometimes I find gems like this pastel pink sweater and sometimes I find things that should have been thrown away months ago. I'll spare you the details...
I feel like my room has the same characteristics as Hermoine's never ending purse in the final Harry Potter movies...

For this outfit, I paired the sweater with a lighter palette instead of my go-to black ensemble. You definitely don't need to go with the usual dark palettes for fall to create a covetable outfit. What are your favorite colors this fall?

Collab of the Century

Bomber: Isabel Marant pour H&M, Beanie: Zara, Tank: T by Alexander Wang, Jeans: Urban Outfitters, Heels: Zara, Bag: Mango

photos by Bethany Struble

The fashion collaboration of the century, Isabel Marant pour H&M, left me with this beautiful bomber and the infamous white leather lace up pants (post coming soon). It also left me with a sad, pathetic bank account...but at least I have cute clothes. Waiting in line for 8 hours and overdosing on coffee was definitely worth the struggle. Did anyone else grab something? Let me know!

Sorry about the quick post, right now I'm off to chop off my hair! :D

Fall Attire

Coat: Topshop (old), Sweater: Sheinside, Pants: Zara, Heels: Zara, Bag: Topshop

Okay people, it's still SO warm here in Los Angeles. Let me first of all apologize for how much I've brought it up on my blog. But seriously, I want to bundle up and drink hot chocolate and play with dying leaves. Is that too much for a girl to ask? I'm mainly concerned about the physical well being of my body. I'm leaving for Sweden in about a month and my body is going to go in complete shock when it goes from sunny LA to the North Pole.

I'm looking at this extra long summer as a way to be more appreciative of the cold once it comes around.

Regardless of the temperature, I am still wearing an awesome sweater, a warm coat, and yes, there are Christmas decorations already up in my house...

Holiday Ideas- NOBLE

THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING!!! If you're in as much shock as I am that it's already November, that probably means you need to (like me) stop procrastinating and start thinking about what to buy your loved ones this year. In the past, I usually end up having major anxiety as time passes and before I know it, there's only a few days until Christmas and I haven't bought any presents yet. This year, however, I promised myself that I would save the panic attack and organize my time more efficiently.

So with that said, I of course want to include you all in the promise I've made and hopefully inspire you all to start shopping as well! First, I began to think about what to get my loving parents. They give me so much and I always find it difficult deciding what to give them that would show my love without breaking the bank. Take my father, for example...he never asks for anything so we end up getting him golf attire or socks because we usually have no idea what else to do. As I've gotten older and wiser, I've realized that my dad probably wants more heartfelt gifts that last and that his sock drawer is probably ridiculously full.

With the help of my friends over at MyTrnd, I discovered NOBLE by Bendtner. Noble is a fantastic jewelry line created by Danish soccer player, Nicklas Bendtner, which was originally intended for men but now has included a beautiful line for women. What better way to make jewelry appeal to men, right?! All I have to do is tell my dad, boyfriend, brothers, whoever really, that Bendtner designed the jewelry and they'll be drooling at the thought.

The collection consists of bracelets, necklaces, and rings that are both unique and versatile. To add to the uniqueness of the jewelry, it is made of exotic Stingray leather with solid Sterling silver and hand set black diamonds. *swoon*

Women will undoubtedly adore the new collection. My amazing mother is definitely not into high heels and fashion but rather loves outdoor activities and kicking some major ass. I find the women's collection to be beautiful in a way that any woman will find irresistible, no matter what her style, due to the masculine edge that is so trendy these days. In fact, I might even have to choose a little something for myself.

Here are some of my favorites:

Gift shopping for others can be exhausting, okay? I need to reward myself with something! Have you seen these pieces?! How can I say no?

Moral of the story, I urge you all to start shopping before it's too late! And take my advice, this jewelry is absolutely beautiful and would make a wonderful gift that your loved ones will not forget. I've created a few outfit ideas for you all including the NOBLE by Bendtner collection to inspire you.

You can browse the lookbook HERE. What are some of your favorite pieces?
Happy shopping!

Overalls

Jacket: Zara, Overalls: Free People, Shirt: Gina Tricot, Heels: ShoeMint, Bag: Topshop

photos by Marcus Nilsson

Ahhhhhh overalls, the clothing of my childhood. Though the overalls of my childhood were mainly hot pink and probably had a Disney character on them, I've been attracted to one pieces ever since. I used to have a denim pair that I would wear with bright floral leggings and light up sneakers. Needless to say, I was a badaaaasssss and none of the other kids on the block messed with my impeccable style...
They're simple, comfortable, but they still make a statement. Overalls have made they're way back into our lives from the '90's and I don't know about you but I feel a bit nostalgic when I slip these bad boys on.
If you're looking for a great pair of overalls, I recommend that you invest in this pair from Free People. I have yet to see them styled in a bad way.

In other news, I am excited about sample sale season in a way that cannot be conveyed through the Internet. Today, Bethany and I went to the 3.1 Phillip Lim sample sale and I scored some beautiful oxblood leather pants and the jumpsuit of my dreams for an unbeatable price. Next stop....Isabel Marant pour H&M...

Thanksgiving, Christmas, cold weather, and sample sales....It's the happiest time of the year!

Coffee Break

Coat: Zara, Tank: Zara, Jeans: J Brand, Boots: Weekday, Bag: Topshop

photos by Marcus Nilsson

Marcus and I took a little coffee break after a long day of studying. I think I was coming up on the 6th hour until I finally decided enough was enough. I couldn't function and I needed copious amounts of caffeine in my system. What made this study session so unbearable was that it occurred on Halloween. I had a test the next morning. No costumes and no parties for us this year. Sure it was disheartening to see all the costumes and cocktails on Instagram and wishing we were there, but it really was not the end of the world...I was mainly disappointed because my friends and I had some BADASS costumes planned (and yes this will happen next Halloween) that we weren't able to show off.

On the bright side, I saved about $50 that would have been spent on some lame ass material only to be worn once and I spared the next-morning-headache that would have been inevitable. Growing up is tough.

This was one exceptionally cold day last week here in sunny LA. I got away with wearing this coat but of course with a flimsy, lingerie style tank underneath. Sunshine always makes me smile, but I'm ready to bundle up for the cold. Sometimes I wish LA had a proper change of seasons. It's such a beautiful thing that so many people take for granted but I suppose the same could be said about sunshine year round. Hopefully it gets colder soon so I can wear this coat more. It's a great statement piece for fall!

In other news, I'll be attending the 3.1 Phillip Lim sample sale this Thursday in LA. I can't wait! Anyone else thinking of checking it out?
